Platform identity
About copyright.ug
copyright.ug is Uganda's independent copyright information platform. We provide free tools and authoritative, plain-language content grounded in the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights (Amendment) Act 2026 and the draft Copyright Regulations 2026 (25 May 2026 draft).
Our mission is to make Uganda's copyright law accessible to every creator, rights holder, and business, so that understanding your rights does not require a law degree or an expensive lawyer.
Every tool on this platform uses real statutory calculation logic drawn directly from the Act and Regulations. Every article cites exact section and regulation numbers. We do not provide legal advice, we provide the information and tools to help you understand your position under the law.

Editorial policy
Platform-attributed content
All content on copyright.ug is written in the platform's own independent editorial voice. No article or tool output carries a BCM byline. Our content is grounded in the law as enacted and drafted, not in commercial interest. Where professional assistance would be beneficial, we say so once per page, clearly labelled and never intrusive.
